Paleokastritsa is not a single beach but a striking coastal area formed by six bays and a collection of sandy and pebbled coves. Steep, densely vegetated hills surround clear turquoise water, creating one of Corfu’s most recognisable landscapes.
Agios Spyridon is the main organised beach and has a predominantly sandy shoreline, while nearby coves combine sand, pebbles and rock. Visitors can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, enjoy watersports or take a boat trip to sea caves and beaches that cannot be reached by road. The water is often cooler and deepens more quickly than at many east-coast beaches.

Varies by cove. The main Agios Spyridon beach is sandy, while several surrounding beaches combine sand, smooth pebbles and rock.
Umbrellas are available at organised beaches. Cliffs and vegetation provide some natural shade, especially later in the day, depending on the cove.
Couples, families, photographers, snorkellers and visitors interested in boat trips. Close supervision is advisable where the seabed deepens quickly.
Accessible by car, taxi or Green Bus. Parking near the main bays can fill early in high season, so a morning arrival is recommended.
